But the general advice we always give is to setup the project and run it, that’s the first hurdle that contributors should overcome, then you can play around a bit and see if you can find some issues on github you want to try out.
Also no need to ask to be assigned on an issue, you can work on it and if you feel confident about your implementation or need some advice, you can open a PR with your changes.
